Meeting on April 30 under the chairmanship of Dr. Ai Songheng, director of the Regional Center for the Development of Vocational Training at the Ministry of Education, Thnot d'or 2024 jury selected 11 teams to participate in the final of the award on July 27.
Of these, 6 are from the Cambodia Institute of Technology, 1 from the Royal University of Phnom Penh, 2 from the Kampong Speu Institute of Technology, 1 from the Royal University of Agriculture and 1 from the Saint Paul Institute of Takeo.
“Promoting plants with strong health benefits through innovation” is the theme chosen for this edition and 29 teams sent a concept note of their project on the basis of which the selection for the final was made.
Infusions, vegetarian products, nutritional bars are among the selected projects. The teams have two months to finalize their project and present to the jury a prototype of their product, accompanied by a presentation showing its innovative nature, its manufacturing process, demonstrating its health benefits and highlighting its interest for development. rural.
In addition to its president, the jury is composed of Sok Sarang (ECOCERT), Lao Reasey (deputy director of the intellectual property department at the Ministry of Commerce), Philippe Monning (director of Memot Rubber Plantation), Dr Buntong Bonarin (research director at the Royal University of Agronomy) and Hélène Giraudet, agronomist.
Launched in 2017 by the Kinal Foundation, vector of the PPM-Confirel Group's CSR policy, Thnot d'Or aims to encourage Cambodian students in agronomy and food production to engage in research and innovation to become full players in rural development.
